Illustrated October - Vintage Children's Book Illustrations Part 1

For some reason October is nearly always the busiest month of my year. Why I don’t know but work, life, home all seem to demand so much more at this time of year. This October has been no different and we are barely half way through the month. Some good things to come out of the last few weeks have included re-discovering my childhood collection of books, many of which have now been passed onto to a new audience but those that weren’t donated to charity shops take pride of place in my office library. Some highlights include:

'Listening for Sounds' by Adelaide Holl - Illustrations by Art Seiden

'Jasmine' by Roger Duvoisin

'The Magic Wallpaper' by Frank Francis

This time of year also seems to bring with it a host of DIY which has synced up nicely with a recent Scandinavian design binge. Freshly painted rooms need things to go on the walls and newly put up shelves need things to put on them! Ingela P Arrhenius again being highly influential in my purchasing, I am bordering on an unhealthy addiction to her work now. I was lucky enough to add this beauty to my design collection recently now that it is finally back in stock in several online shops (such as Lagom Design)!

How many melamine plates do one household need? I don’t care, there is something so satisfying about melamine.....mmmm melamine!
